About Better Choices for School Culture

Better Choices for School Culture began as a working process for classrooms with easy to use tools to affect positive changes in the learning environment. Understanding that cohesive teamwork and communication would strengthen the use of the tools a teacher training was developed as a school wide approach.

With a background in teaching, character development, school counseling, and problem solving, new tools were designed to positively impact student behavior and classroom management.

Having practiced the tools in the training with different classrooms over the years, students were observed taking increasing responsibility for conduct, less defensive reactions, and an overall more positive classroom climate.

With a goal of core principles being integrated into daily interactions with students and blending problem solving skills, character development, and bullying prevention into school life, school culture will be transformed into an optimal learning environment year after year.
